Tips for One-Way Cruises
- Repositioning = best value: Spring and fall repositioning cruises (ships moving between seasonal homeports) offer some of the lowest per-night pricing in the industry. The trade-off is more sea days and fewer port stops.
- Plan your return trip: Since you disembark in a different city than you boarded, you'll need a one-way flight home (or to your next destination). Factor this cost into the total trip price.
- Transatlantic crossings: Ships repositioning between the US and Europe offer 10-14 night transatlantic crossings. These are sea-day-heavy but incredibly affordable per night -- and a bucket-list experience.
- Great for combining trips: A one-way cruise can serve as transportation between two vacation spots. Cruise from Miami to Barcelona, then spend a week in Spain -- the cruise replaces a transatlantic flight.
